Beegie Adair Style Fills
In this lesson we explore fills for the B and C sections of the tune. Many of these ideas have been inspired by the Beegie Adair recording of this tune.It’s a great recording so I suggest that you listen to it.
Beegie’s playing in general is one of my main inspirations when playing ballads and the fills that she adds are tasteful and beautiful, but also very simple at the same time.
Fills Derived From 3rd Intervals
A common Beegie Adair fill is to harmonise a scale with 3rd intervals and use this as the basis of the improvised fill. We explore how Beegie Adair approaches the static harmony and melody in the turnaround of the 2nd A Section.
